There is no stepmother's day

I am evil.
I am an alien.
I am an archetype.
I am wicked.

I once dried tears.
Took you shopping.
Paid the tuition.
Gave advice.

I cleaned you up.
I held your hand.
I brushed your hair.
I made a vow.

I am no one now.
I am nothing now.

There is no stepmother's day.

If it makes you feel better, I treat my stepmom as blood on Mother's Day, and I didn't even have the benefit of her as a parent for 12 years as a kid, I was technically grown when she married my Dad.

I'm inclined to ask how old? Old enough to appreciate you yet? I didn't actually APPRECIATE my Mom until I was 19. I literally woke up one day and it hit me in the face like a ton of bricks, "Oh, Mom and Dad DO know everything, they're NOT so stupid, and they DO really look out for my best interest." Some people realize early, some never do, but time...it takes time...
